Dr Ser was appointed an Independent and Non-executive Director on 1 December 2008 and re-elected in 2009. He is a member of the Risk Committee. In 1997, Dr Ser joined the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as an associate professor of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He is also the Director of the Centre for Signal Processing at NTU and a Senator of NTU. In 1982, Dr Ser joined the Defence Science Organisation (DSO), Singapore and became the Head of the Communications Research Division in 1993. At DSO, he received the prestigious Defence Technology (Individual) Prize in 1991 and the DSO Excellence Award in 1992. Dr Ser holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Loughborough University, UK. He was also a recipient of the Colombo Plan Scholarship (Undergraduate Studies) and the PSC Postgraduate Scholarship. |
